Perfektion is the surest way to prevent true beauty. Because beauty comes from chance, change, age and individuality. For around 500 years, the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi has reminded us of precisely that.
With JAKU, we have translated the idea of an organic aesthetic into a sculptural table. It rests on distinctive ceramic bases, handcrafted as unique pieces using traditional techniques and a particularly high proportion of grog. Each base is individually made by hand, developing its own form, surface and colour in the process. Variations and irregularities are therefore not only to be expected, but are an essential part of the design – no two JAKU tables are exactly alike.
